Purpose of the Bible devotional
Here is a nice simple devotional by Max Lucado that i've read regarding the bible...

On a personal note. The bible to me is like a map. Sometimes it is complicated, but sometimes the direction it shows is quite clear. In general the bible has themes. Words like love, joy, peace, friendliness, goodheartedness, loyalty, humility and self control. Now there is nothing wrong with following a book that teaches this. In fact, i haven't seen any other book which stands so much for these themes as the bible. Some may have reflections of it, but Jesus was our ultimate example in living form...the word that became flesh.
John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Now for me to end up in a destination such as love, i would want to have the map that takes me there...and thats the bible...which represents a Almighty God who loves humans when they do not deserve it. I wanna love like that.
