- Love and be loved

Hi there Been a while since I made a devotional. I felt it was time to speak from the heart a bit. Lately I have been feeling unloved. Of course in Christ, I am never unloved. But God said it is not good for man(& woman) to be alone*. So social responsibilities are still part of God's plan for us.

Anyways...this morning I've realised, that in order to receive, love, I need to give love. In order to receive anything, I need to open my hand and give. When you open your hand to give, It is also open to receive. Lately there has been this lack of compassion in me. The pressures of the world has distracted me from God who is the one who makes me have compassion. So maybe this is a confession in order to strive for compassion once again. That God will change my heart and soften it, instead of hardening it.

We are not animals. Animals live mainly for themselves. This is what makes humans different. They live for God and for their neighbours. Or so it should be.

For those who are alone. Don't seclude yourself from society. Be in the presence of others. Then you will realise there are always those who are less fortunate than yourself. You will also realise that you are not the only one with struggles.

Application steps:
- Try and be friendly to someone today.
- Compliment them.
- Focus on the good in them instead of the bad in them.
- Try and get out more and communicate other than just communicating online.
- When you are online, value the relationships just as much as you would in "real life".
- Have manners, and say goodbye when you log off etc.

*Genesis 2:18
The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."

I hope this devotional will mean something to someone.
